Ticket Monkey
Ticket Monkey App — Ticket Monkey Ltd

App Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 June 2026 · Version 1.0 · Last updated: 24 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Ticket Monkey Ltd (“Ticket Monkey”, “we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data in the Ticket Monkey mobile app, which ticket buyers use to view and manage their tickets and account.

It covers the features that are specific to the app. It sits alongside our main Privacy Policy, which explains in full how we handle the data of ticket buyers across our platform — including the data we collect, our lawful bases, who we share data with, international transfers, retention, your rights and how to complain. Please read both. Where this policy is silent, the main Privacy Policy applies.

In short: The app shows your tickets, account and order history. Your tickets can be cached on your device so they work without signal, added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and presented at the door by QR code or NFC tap. If you turn on biometric unlock, your face or fingerprint is checked by your phone’s operating system and never reaches Ticket Monkey.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

Ticket Monkey Ltd is a private limited company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 16420115), with its registered office at Unit 1 Mill Rd Trading Estate, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1JH, United Kingdom. Our VAT registration number is GB4959360.

For any question about this policy or to exercise your data protection rights, contact us at support@ticketmonkey.co.uk or 0333 772 0726. We are the “controller” of the personal data described here, except where our main Privacy Policy says we act as a processor for an event organiser.

2. How this policy relates to our main policy

The app is one of the ways you use the Ticket Monkey platform. Everything in our main Privacy Policy applies when you use the app — it is the authoritative source on the categories of data we collect, why we use them, our lawful bases under the UK GDPR, the providers we share data with, how long we keep data and your rights. This document adds the detail that is specific to the mobile app and the device features it uses.

3. The data the app handles

CategoryExamples
Account dataYour name and email address and your sign-in. You authenticate through our secure identity service; the app stores a secure access token on the device, not your password.
Ticket and order dataThe tickets you hold, order history and the codes used to admit you to events — shown so you can manage and present your tickets.
Device and diagnostic dataBasic device and app information, and a push token if you enable notifications, needed to operate the app, deliver notifications, keep it secure and diagnose faults.

Payment card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by the app. See the main Privacy Policy for the complete picture.

4. Biometric unlock

You can choose to lock the app with your device’s biometrics (face or fingerprint). If you do, the check is performed entirely by your phone’s operating system. Your biometric data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to or stored by Ticket Monkey. The app only ever receives a yes/no result from the operating system. This feature is optional and can be turned off in the app’s settings at any time.

5. Offline mode and on-device storage

So that your tickets are available without a reliable internet connection, the app can store your tickets and recent account information locally on the device. This on-device data is held within the app’s private storage and is removed when you sign out or uninstall the app. We recommend enabling your device’s screen lock and the app’s biometric unlock to keep cached tickets private on a shared device.

6. Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we send you messages about your tickets and orders (for example order confirmations, event updates and reminders) using Apple Push Notification service on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android. To do this we store a push token that identifies your device installation. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings; doing so does not affect the rest of the app.

7. Digital wallet passes

You can add your tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. When you do, a pass containing your ticket details is created and added to the wallet app provided by Apple or Google. Once added, the pass is managed by your device’s wallet and is governed by Apple’s or Google’s own privacy terms. We provide the ticket data needed to create the pass and to keep it up to date.

8. NFC ticket presentation

On supported devices the app can present a ticket by an NFC tap at the entrance, as an alternative to showing the QR code on screen. When you do this, the app emits the same ticket code that the QR code contains so the scanner can admit you. NFC is used only to present your ticket at the moment of entry; the app does not read other tags or use NFC for any other purpose.

9. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhy
NotificationsOptional — to send ticket and order updates and reminders
Biometrics (Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint)Optional app lock; handled by your device, never sent to us
NFCOptional — to present a ticket by tapping at the entrance
Network accessTo sign in, load your tickets and account, and keep them up to date

You can review and change these permissions in your device settings. Declining a permission only limits the related feature; the rest of the app continues to work.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access a copy of your personal data; have inaccurate data corrected; have your data erased where the law requires; object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing; ask us to transfer your data; and withdraw consent where we rely on it. To exercise any of these, contact support@ticketmonkey.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within one month. Full details are in our main Privacy Policy.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration — including encryption in transit, secure storage of access tokens in the device’s protected keystore, and secure development practices. Payment card data is handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, where changes are significant, tell you through the app or by email.

13. How to complain

If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at https://ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
